Something to think on

When you have a point to make, just how do you go about it?

Do you want to make your point in a discussion by throwing ad hominems such as ‘obsessed’ or ‘misogynist’? That they’re wildly off the mark doesn’t help.

Do you want to make your point in a discussion by claiming valid critique is ‘bullying’ or ‘harassment’?

Two threats sent by the father of Hayley Stevens. The one covered by the plaster graphic contains the former address of one of those threatened.

When you have a considerable audience such manipulative behaviour can yield unwanted consequences. People who know you (or think they know you) may come to your defence. And maybe, just maybe, one or two of them may overstep the mark. They may make threats of one kind or another, including those of physical violence. They may go on to share personal details of your so called harasser online.

You may subsequently deny you ‘sent them’, but you remain culpable.

You are responsible for your own manipulative actions which provided your readers with a false representation of a situation.

Alternatively, you could avoid such situations by making your point properly.

Oh, so he’s committed a criminal act of harassment against 2 people in one go.

    Nice guy.

But, I bet people still get behind Hayley. When does she release a t-shirt?
